Hello Mitchell Families!
Report cards for the second quarter will be sent home with your child on January 3, 2018.

With the winter months approaching, please make sure your child comes to school with a coat and gloves.  We will go outside if the temperature is above 40 degrees.

Beginning in January we will start a program at Mitchell called Rocket Math.  This will be offered to students in the 3rd grade in an effort to increase multiplication fluency.  Students do not need to come early for this program.  When they get off their bus they can go eat and when finished, go to the library where volunteers will be there to help them practice math facts.  They will then take a one minute timed test and will keep track of their progress on their rocket.  Students do this at their own pace with no pressure to be perfect.  Hopefully each time they take a test they see their score go up and in turn, their confidence as well.  With Christmas coming you can help your child at home as well.  If you are able to find Flash cards, these will not only help your child  learn multiplication facts but also provide an activity for you and your child to do together which is so important for our kids.  They make great stocking stuffers!  If you have any questions about the program, please don't hesitate to call me.

If you are interested in working in a Cafeteria in the district or being a Teacher's Aide, please contact the Human Resources Department at 798-8904.

As always, feel free to contact me anytime!
