GCHS Students Volunteer During Metal Detector Training
Chris Mitchell

Granite City, Ill., December 20, 2024 – When school resumes in January, Granite City High School will be implementing the use of metal detectors as the students enter the buildings each morning.

GCHS is adopting what other area schools have in place.

On Friday, over 100 GCHS students volunteered to help our staff train for the daily process. Students who volunteered were treated with donuts for their willingness to help make GCHS a safer place.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this process.
