GCSD9 Students Recognized by Madison County Green School Program

Granite City, Ill., April 9, 2025 – Granite City Community Unit School District #9 1st-grader Jace Boyer and 7th-grader Lauren Wilson were recognized by Madison County Green Schools Programs as 2025 Clean Air Bookmark Contest winners.

Grades K-2:  Show You Care About the Air! - Show how you care about clean air on your bookmark design. 
Jace Boyer -  1st place, Wilson
246 entries from 11 schools

 Grades 6-8:  Be Part of the Solution to Air Pollution! - Show how to help solve the problem of air pollution.
Lauren Wilson - 1st place, Coolidge
- 178 entries from seven schools

Boyer and Wilson will receive a certificate, a Kindle Paperwhite, and a gift card. First-place bookmarks are printed with the winner's name, school, and design for distribution in each winner's school, in addition to being recognized at the May 13 GCSD9 School Board Meeting.
