Dear GCSD9 Families and Staff;
It’s been a great start to the 2024-25 school year in Granite City Community Unit School District #9. I wanted to share a few updates with you all heading into the three-day weekend.
In observance of Labor Day, all nine buildings and the GCSD9 Board Office will be closed on Monday, September 2. Students and staff return to the classroom on Tuesday, September 3.
In addition, we wanted to make the community aware of a road closure at the viaduct on Highway 111 just North of 162. The viaduct will be closed for repairs from September 3 through November 15.
We anticipate bus delays during this time, in addition to increased traffic on Pontoon Road near Grigsby Intermediate School. If at all possible, please try to avoid these areas during arrival and dismissal times.
Have a safe Labor Day and enjoy the three-day weekend.
