Staff Profile

Dr. Liz Niepert has served in several roles in the Granite City School District since 2007.  Her recent position included implementing the Instructional Technology Department, creating STEM classes for elementary students and developing the Creator’s Lab.  Prior to that, she worked at Frohardt and Mitchell Elementary teaching 3rd & 4th grade technology classes and Maryville and Wilson teaching 2nd grade technology lessons.  She was also a Business Technology teacher at Granite City High School for 9 years and participated in many activities and club sponsorships.  Prior to working within GCSD9, Liz worked at Cahokia High School, and before her teaching career, worked in the banking industry in the accounting field.

Liz, a 1997 GCHS graduate, is committed to ensuring that all students learn through collaboration with teachers, staff, students and families. Her husband, Mr. Billy Niepert, is also a teacher in the District. They have two children, Colin and Carlie. During her free time, she likes to read and spend time with family and friends.  She also loves to travel in the U.S., visiting everywhere from National Parks to big cities.
