TAX NOTICE

Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase for Granite City CUSD #9

I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for Granite City CUSD #9 for 2024 will be held on December 10, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Board of Education Office, 3200 Maryville Road, Granite City, Illinois.

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2023  were 28,643,550.

The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2024 are $33,345,000.  This represents a 16.41% increase over the previous year.

III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2023 were $2,033,752.

The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2024 are $2,020,020.  This represents a .68% decrease over the previous year.

IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2023  were $30,677,302

The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2024 are $35,365,020. This represents a 15.28% increase over the previous year.
